The 34th Traditional Dance & Bangaku Festival

About this event

This is a Bangaku festival held to promote the improvement, transmission, and development of the skills of "Bangaku" handed down in Mamurogawa Town, and to promote "Mamurogawa, the Homeland of Traditional Culture." Bangaku troupes gather from inside and outside the town to perform traditional dances. For this 34th edition, in addition to three groups from within Mamurogawa Town, special guest groups from Yurihonjo City and Kaneyama Town in Akita Prefecture have been invited, making a total of five groups performing together. At the venue, exhibitions of festival rites from each district and vintage Bangaku photographs, as well as offerings of sacred sake (omiki), are planned, making it a valuable opportunity to experience traditional culture from inside and outside the town. Please enjoy this festival of traditional performing arts with your family and friends.
