About this event
Held since 1998, "Classic Car Review in Takahata," Takahata Town's signature classic car festival, reaches its 14th edition in 2026. In this biennial event, 180 to 200 original domestic and foreign cars manufactured up to 1988 (Showa 63) gather in one place. Featuring domestic and foreign vehicles from the Showa era and earlier, this event is held in a unique format where classic cars are displayed along roads closed to traffic in the shopping streets of central Takahata Town. At the end of the event, a parade where cars drive through the town will also be held. Classic car enthusiasts gather from inside and outside the prefecture, aiming for a full day of enjoying all of Takahata Town through reuniting with nostalgic famous cars, interacting with owners, and enjoying shopping and food along the shopping streets. Aimed at revitalizing the local economy and promoting the entire town, this goes beyond a simple car show to serve as a launchpad for communicating Takahata Town's charm—namely its rich nature, delicious food, and warm people—to audiences inside and outside the prefecture. Live broadcasts by local radio stations and markets will also be held, advancing initiatives so visitors can enjoy the entire town through the medium of cars.
