About this event
Held in Kawanishi Town, Yamagata Prefecture, "Dahlia Cut Flower Harvest Day" is an event held when dahlias are at their peak. At the dahlia garden, which usually reaches peak viewing from mid-September to mid-October, visitors can enjoy colorful dahlias of various sizes and shapes. At this event, visitors are expected to experience harvesting cut dahlia flowers. During the park opening period, diverse events are held, such as dahlia exhibitions and markets, mountain bike competitions, cosplay events, the Ohara-ryu dahlia exhibition, new variety naming ceremonies, florist arrangement exhibitions, the dahlia walking path, dahlia cultivation workshops, and Happy Halloween. In the dahlia garden, you can also enjoy soft-serve ice cream made with the town's specialty Beni-daizu (red soybeans) and "Gyu-kon," a collaborative gourmet dish of beef shank and Yamagata's specialty Tama-konnyaku (ball konjac). It will be an opportunity to fully appreciate the charms of dahlias.
