Held in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the full opening of the Yamagata Railway line, the "Flower Nagai Line Festival" is an event heralding the arrival of autumn. Scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, visitors can fully enjoy the charms along the Flower Nagai Line. At Arato Station, which serves as the venue, visitor perks include giveaways of "Yamatetsu Ballpoint Pens" and "Can Badges" (first 500 visitors), as well as complimentary servings of tama konnyaku (first 200 visitors). In addition, a wide variety of events are planned, such as commemorative photos in the driver's seat, Rail Star handcar test rides, a brass band concert, and a food and craft market. Furthermore, simultaneous events will be held at Nishi-Otsuka Station and Uzen-Narita Station, featuring elaborate programs at each station such as cut flower exhibitions, art/calligraphy/senryu exhibitions, harmonica and guitar performances, sing-along cafes (utagoe kissa), vinyl record concerts, imoni (taro stew) parties, and ocarina concerts. Access by the Flower Nagai Line is recommended due to limited parking at the venue. In 2025, a campaign offering all-day rides on the Flower Nagai Line for 100 yen one-way was also conducted.
