About this event
A traditional festival held every autumn in the Hanakawa Minami district of Ishikari City, Hokkaido. In 2026, the Yoimiya Festival (eve of the festival) will take place on Saturday, September 19, and the Annual Festival will be held on Sunday, September 20. Dedicated to honoring the enshrined deity Omononushi no Okami and strengthening community bonds, the celebration delights visitors with diverse stage performances including local Yosakoi Soran dances, as well as numerous food stalls. Centered around neighborhood residents, it offers a precious opportunity to experience the shrine's history and local culture. The Yoimiya Festival is held as the eve of the annual festival, where local residents gather from evening into night for the purification of the shrine pavilion and sacred Shinto rituals. On the day of the Annual Festival, solemn ceremonies are held starting in the morning, and local Yosakoi Soran dance performances liven up the festive mood. At the many stalls, visitors can enjoy meals, drinks, and unique local flavors, alongside planned attractions and games for children.
