Held in Shonai Town, Yamagata Prefecture, "The! Yamagata Taiko Festival" is an event organized by the Nippon Taiko Foundation Yamagata Prefectural Branch where visitors can fully enjoy the resonant sounds of taiko drums. Held concurrently with this event is the "9th Nippon Taiko Junior Competition Yamagata Tournament," where passionate performances by young taiko drummers who will lead the next generation will be showcased. Powerful performances are expected to unfold on the stage of the Shonai Town Cultural Creation Center Hibiki Hall. The event is organized by the Nippon Taiko Foundation Yamagata Prefectural Branch and supported by Yamagata Prefecture, the Yamagata Prefectural Board of Education, Shonai Town, the Shonai Town Board of Education, and The Nippon Foundation, among others. It is a festival of music and culture focused on the powerful resonance of taiko drums and the discovery and nurturing of young talent in the junior competition.
