About this event
Marking the 15th milestone year since the Great East Japan Earthquake, this Kanze School Noh and Kyogen performance is held with prayers for memorial tribute and reconstruction. It is a rare opportunity to savor the profound world of traditional Japanese performing arts, Noh and Kyogen. The cast features accomplished Noh performers including Hisahiro Oka, Yasutaro Yamamoto, and Takahiro Kitanami. The program showcases the Noh play 'Hagoromo Wago no Mai' characterized by beautiful dancing, the humorous Kyogen play 'Busu', and the dynamic Noh play 'Kokaji Kurogashira'. This performance aims to share wishes for recovery from the earthquake disaster and bring vitality to the local community. Following a previous performance that was forced to be canceled due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, this performance marks a true fresh start, realized upon the completion of restoration work at the Toho Minna no Bunka Center. Through traditional performing arts, you can deepen your thoughts on memorial tribute and reconstruction.
