About this event

This is the largest tea ceremony in Aizu, held to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Aizuwakamatsu's municipal status and the relocation and restoration of the tea house "Rinkaku" to its original site at Tsuruga Castle. Following the Boshin War, while the castle keep and other structures were demolished, the Rinkaku tea house was relocated to the Morikawa family residence within the city, where it was carefully preserved for over 120 years. Celebrating the relocation and restoration of this historic tea house, the event attracts many tourists from both inside and outside the prefecture. Dedicated to two benefactors, Gamo Ujisato and Sen Shoan, this tea ceremony offers a precious opportunity to experience history and culture.
