About this event
Held in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, the '5th Tono Washi Lantern Exhibition' features exhibited entries from the Tono Washi Lantern Exhibition Contest and Tono washi lanterns crafted by pupils of Iwaki Municipal Tono Elementary School. A premium concert blending washi paper, illumination, and music will also be held concurrently, allowing visitors to enjoy a magical ambiance. The art exhibition will take place in the gymnasium of the former Iwaki Municipal Iritono Junior High School across multiple dates from September 12 (Sat) to October 3 (Sat). It includes lighting ceremonies and evening openings, as well as events such as calligraphy performances and craft workshops. The premium concert will be held at the same gymnasium on October 4 (Sun), requiring advance registration but offering free admission. The art exhibition does not require advance registration and is free to enter.
