About this event

With the theme 'Enjoy the beach (plage) in front of Iwaki Station!', this event brings a sandy beach right in front of JR Iwaki Station. Children and adults alike can enjoy sand-related experiences, including the creation and exhibition of impressive sand sculptures, playing on a white sand beach made with pure white sand, and sand-painting experiences where you draw pictures using sand. In addition, there will be a singing sand experience that makes a 'squeak-squeak' sound when walked on or rubbed with hands, allowing visitors to experience the mysterious sound firsthand. On the first day, Sunday, October 11, the opening ceremony will feature a hula dance performance by Shohei Junior and Senior High School attached to Higashi Nippon International University, adding a vibrant touch to the start of the event. For these 2 days only, the familiar station front turns into a sandy beach where you can savor the beach atmosphere.
