The 70th Nihonmatsu Chrysanthemum Doll Exhibition
Japanese name:第70回二本松の菊人形
📅 Sat, Oct 10, 2026 - Mon, Nov 23, 2026
About this event
Scene displays adorned with gorgeous chrysanthemum flowers will be presented under the theme "The Bonds of the Toyotomi Clan and the Pride of the Niwa Clan." The Fukushima Prefecture Chrysanthemum Competition and the Nihonmatsu Chrysanthemum Competition, which are popular every year, are held concurrently. Set in Kasumigajo Park (a National Historic Site: Nihonmatsu Castle Ruins), this is one of Japan's largest chrysanthemum festivals, where chrysanthemum flowers and autumn foliage fill the entire venue. Rubber sheets are laid along the viewing paths inside the venue, allowing for wheelchair access. Wheelchair rentals are also available at the information desk next to the venue entrance (reservations not accepted). Parking is free. Access is convenient, located about 5 minutes by car from Nihonmatsu IC and about a 20-minute walk from Nihonmatsu Station. Yellow banners reading "Nihonmatsu no Kiku Ningyo" (Nihonmatsu Chrysanthemum Dolls) serve as landmarks during the period. The autumn leaves in the historic Kasumigajo Park garden also reach their peak during the event period.
