Hirose River Autumn Cycling 2026

About this event

"Hirose River Autumn Cycling 2026" is a cycling event running along the Hirose River in Date City, Fukushima Prefecture. The approximately 40-kilometer round-trip course runs along the Hirose River from Tsukidate-machi through Ryozen-machi to Yanagawa-machi, offering scenic views of Date in autumn, from the satoyama landscapes of Tsukidate to riverside routes. The course has few major slopes, featuring a gentle downhill profile on the outbound leg and a gentle uphill on the return leg. As there are narrow downhill sections along the way, safe riding is encouraged. Participants will receive special perks including a special lunch set packed with autumn flavors, a "Kitemiina" original sacoche bag, and locally grown apples as a souvenir. Participation is open to junior high school students and older who are capable of cycling at their own responsibility. A safety support system is established, with lead support riders and staff stationed at intersections. This event is also organized as part of the 20th anniversary commemoration of the merger of Date City.
