41st Gorman Cup Minamiaizu Furusato Health Marathon

About this event

This event honors the achievements of Michiko Gorman, a pioneer of women's marathon running who spent her elementary and junior high school years in the Tateiwa area of Minamiaizu Town (formerly Tateiwa Village), while aiming to promote health and foster exchange both inside and outside the town. Runners can jog leisurely amidst great nature while enjoying autumn leaves and hot springs. Eligibility is open to anyone in 1st grade of elementary school or older who is confident in their health and able to complete the race. Various categories are available, including a Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km, 3 km, 2 km, and 1.5 km, allowing participants to choose according to their age and physical fitness. Participants receive a T-shirt or hand towel as a participation gift. Additional services include mushroom soup, sports drinks, discount coupons for soft-serve ice cream, and entry tickets for an exciting lottery draw. In the previous edition, 503 runners participated.
