About this event
Nishiaizu Town's annual autumn event, the Nishiaizu Furusato Festival, will be held at Sayuri Park for two days on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, 2026. Running from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on both days, it is a major event packed with the bounties and culture of Nishiaizu Town. Stage entertainment features the live stage 'Sayuri Laugh & Music Fest' by comedians and musical artists, the 'National Giant Kiri-Geta Throwing Championship' competing for throwing distance with oversized paulownia clogs, the local hero 'Jojin Dena Show,' and the 'Furusato Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament' at the end of the event where participants can win local specialties of Nishiaizu Town. There are also plenty of hands-on activities such as the popular annual Autumn Foliage Walk and 'Open-Air Wrestling' matches held in a specially installed pro-wrestling ring. For gourmet food, visitors can enjoy Nishiaizu's proud miso ramen, newly harvested buckwheat noodles (shin-soba), local sake, sweets, and more. On October 31, a talk show by Dr. Minoru Kamata and events related to the Fukushima Red Hopes baseball team are also scheduled. A free shuttle bus will operate from JR Nozawa Station, providing convenient access.
