Takigawa Valley Autumn Foliage
Japanese name:滝川渓谷の紅葉
📅 Wed, Nov 11, 2026 - Mon, Nov 30, 2026
About this event
At Takigawa Valley in Yamatsuri Town, Fukushima Prefecture, a series of various large and small waterfalls along a 3 km promenade with an elevation difference of about 300 meters captivate visitors with scenic gorge beauty and the sound of cascading waters. In autumn, trees such as Japanese maples ablaze with color adorn the waterfalls, offering a magical and enchanting view. The autumn colors around Choshi-no-kuchi Falls near the summit are particularly stunning and can also be admired from the observation deck. The peak viewing period is typically from mid-November to late November, though it may vary depending on weather conditions. As mobile phone reception is poor inside the gorge and some areas are slippery, descending the mountain by 16:00 is recommended. Admission is free.
