2026 77th Otaru City Cultural Festival

About this event

The Otaru City Cultural Festival will be held from October 1 to November 8, 2026. At Otaru City Museum of Art, the City Art Exhibition will be held from October 1 to October 11, the City Calligraphy Exhibition from October 15 to October 18, and the Otaru Youth Exhibition from October 21 to October 25. Additionally, a Bonsai Exhibition from October 23 to October 25 and a Tea Ceremony (Urasenke) from October 24 to October 25 will take place. Furthermore, the City Photography Exhibition will be held from October 28 to November 1, the Joint Ikebana Flower Arrangement Exhibition from October 30 to November 1, and the Shoyu Calligraphy Exhibition and Pressed Flower Art Exhibition from November 5 to November 8. At Lifelong Learning Plaza "Repio," a Haiku Contest, Tanka Contest, and Senryu Contest will be held on October 25, with award-winning works exhibited at Otaru City Museum of Art. Dance & Ballet will be held at Otaru Civic Hall on November 3, and "Harmony of Japan: Folk Songs, Shigin Poetry Recitation, and Echigo Odori Dance" will be held at Otaru Civic Center on the same day.
