"Iitate Village Villagers' Cafeteria" is a dining hall where grandmothers of Iitate Village and students from the Oguro Seminar at Fukushima University take on new challenges while preserving Iitate's food traditions. On dates held at the "Nagadoro Community Center" in the Nagadoro district, visitors can enjoy the regular menu in a buffet style. This is an opportunity for villagers and visitors to the village to casually savor "Iitate's cuisine." This cafeteria is operated in collaboration between villagers and students, held about once a month, and serves a "One Soup and One Dish Meal" (Ichiju Issai Zen). The main "pickled vegetables" are made by villagers, accompanied by nostalgic steamed okowa rice and miso soup made by students. It serves as a gathering place to deepen "bonds with the village" for a diverse group of recovery contributors, including returned villagers, commuting villagers and their families, village hall staff, domestic and international university students, and people seeking a connection with Iitate Village.
