Mito Station's first fashion show event, "Mito Station RUNWAY," will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in the Mito Station Free Passage. This event is organized by Mito Station Development Co., Ltd., Bunka Designer Institute, and the RUNWAY100 Executive Committee, and is supported by Mito City. The Mito Station Free Passage, usually bustled with many commuters, will turn into a runway for this single day. A diverse lineup of performers transcending generations and roles—including local high school students, vocational school students, professional models, publicly selected models, and even JR East staff and Excel staff—will take the stage, delivering performances that highlight their individuality. There will be plenty of highlights, such as the unveiling of costumes created by vocational school students and collaborations with professional models. Through this event, it aims to revitalize real apparel culture, showcase young people taking on future challenges, and bring energy to Ibaraki.
