Koga Daiichi High School 100th Anniversary: Koga Ichi Collection

About this event

Ibaraki Prefectural Koga Daiichi High School, a traditional local school established in 1926 (Taisho 15) as its predecessor, Ibaraki Prefectural Koga Commercial School, celebrates its 100th anniversary. To commemorate this, the Koga Machikado Museum will hold a special exhibition closely tied to local topics, "Koga Daiichi High School 100th Anniversary: Koga Ichi Collection." This exhibition will showcase treasures from storage, mainly featuring artworks, calligraphy, award-related documents that tell history, and rubbings of stone monuments carved about 100 years ago. Through valuable materials not normally open to the public, visitors can touch upon the history and traditions of Koga Daiichi High School. In particular, the rubbings of the stone monuments, where you can learn about the thoughts of the people at that time who wished for the development of the region from the text, are one of the highlights. This project is held to foster momentum for the 100th anniversary together with local residents and wish for the school's further development.
