IRONMAN Japan South Hokkaido 2026

About this event

IRONMAN Japan South Hokkaido 2026, the only IRONMAN-branded race in Japan, will be held in Hokuto City and Kikonai Town in southern Hokkaido, close to Hakodate. This race consists of three diverse disciplines: a swim in the calm Tsugaru Strait, a high-speed bike course racing through a traffic-controlled expressway, and a flat and fast run course running through the pastoral scenery of Kikonai Town. Athletes will take on the full distance of a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike, and 42 km run. Around the host area, there are Hakodate City, which ranked 1st for two consecutive years in the Municipality Attractiveness Ranking, as well as Hokuto City and Kikonai Town with excellent Shinkansen access, allowing visitors to enjoy their stay during race week. As the only full-distance IRONMAN race held in Japan, it will be a special experience for many triathletes.
