Focusing on works in the collection of The Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki, this exhibition introduces diverse expressions of stars and the moon through modern and contemporary Japanese-style paintings, Western-style paintings, and prints, reconsidering the gaze we have held toward the night sky. With the theme of astronomical observation at an art museum, through works featuring stars and the moon as motifs—ranging from paintings to meteorites—visitors can experience the various thoughts and perspectives that people have held toward the night sky since ancient times. It is an exhibition event recommended for a wide range of visitors, including couples, children and families, seniors, and women.
