About this event
Introducing the artistic career of Japanese-style painter Yasuto Ide, this exhibition showcases everything from his signature works inspired by Bali, Indonesia, to his recent Mount Fuji series in a single venue. As the artist's largest solo exhibition to date, it displays 28 works ranging from recent creations to grand masterpieces and numerous award-winning pieces unveiled at the Reorganized Inten Exhibitions. Highlighting his educational outreach activities—a lifelong passion—the exhibition displays the results of on-site classes held at elementary schools in Kitaibaraki City and hosts related art education events. The highlights of this exhibition are that it is a large-scale solo exhibition presenting Yasuto Ide's painting career from representative works to recent pieces, introduces the current status of the Tenshin Memorial Ibaraki Award-winning artist, and hosts related educational outreach events. In particular, it marks the first opportunity to present a comprehensive collection of his works at a museum in eastern Japan, making it his largest solo exhibition ever. In addition, covering his works submitted to the Reorganized Inten Exhibitions since becoming a coterie member—starting with his 12th Tenshin Memorial Ibaraki Award-winning piece 'Soen'—visitors can gain an overview from the transitions in his artistic career to his latest trends. Furthermore, it honors Ide's lifelong work in educational outreach, having continuously held Japanese painting hands-on workshops and lectures for children.
