The Hombetsu Inari Shrine Annual Grand Festival is a traditional festival in Shikabe Town held every year from September 19 to 21. The greatest highlight of this festival is the "Akasaka Yakko Dochuburi" performed every year on July 8, known as a historical local traditional performing art based on lore from the Ansei era. This traditional performing art conveys the region's history and culture distinctly by being performed in accordance with the period of the annual festival as well as throughout the festival season. The festival spans three days, allowing local residents and tourists to come together and enjoy. Embodying the rich nature and history of Shikabe Town, this festival provides a valuable opportunity to experience local culture.
