About this event
A summer tradition of Hasaki in Kamisu City, Ibaraki Prefecture, the 40th Kirasse Festival will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, around Toyogahama Athletic Park. This festival originated with the goal of expanding the circle of community, inspired by the word 'kirasse,' which means 'welcome' in the Ibaraki and Chiba dialects. In the fireworks display that highlights the festival, approximately 3,000 fireworks are scheduled to color the night sky. The fireworks launch is scheduled from 19:00 to 19:30, and will be canceled in severe weather with no postponement. During the day, a mikoshi parade winding through the town of Hasaki takes place, offering a gorgeous and energetic spectacle. Free distribution of tsumire-jiru (fish ball soup) is also scheduled. Venue access is a short walk from the Hasaki Kaisuiyokujo bus stop after taking a bus from JR Choshi Station. Parking is free for 2,100 vehicles. Sponsorship donations are also being accepted to support the execution of the festival.
