In the fruitful autumn, the 'Port Direct Sales Market Autumn Taste Festival' will be held in Mori Town, Hokkaido, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the bounty of the sea. It is a 2-day event where delicious foods from Mori Town gather in large numbers to savor seafood. The event will take place on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00 at the Kita no Mori-machi Funka Bay Direct Sales Market (Mori Port Reclaimed Land). As daily highlight features, free distribution of crab broth miso soup (first 100 people each day) will be held starting at 10:30 on both days. Exclusively on Saturday, October 3, charcoal-grilled saury will be sold for 200 yen per fish starting at 11:30 (first 100 people), and exclusively on Sunday, October 4, butter-soy sauce grilled scallops will be served for 300 yen each starting at 11:30 (first 100 servings). At the food marche, recommended local specialties and gourmet items from the direct sales market will be sold in limited quantities, including Hokkaido frozen fish assortments, Mori Town frozen blueberries, special deep-fried seafood, ikameshi with mountain wasabi, sweet potato 'kokorokke' croquettes, inari sushi with mountain wasabi, Mori Town SPF pork jumbo yakitori, and limited collaboration breads. Payment is cash only; in case of rain, the eat-in food booths will be cancelled and will operate for takeout only.
