About this event

Held in the schoolyard of Daigo Town Daigo Elementary School in Ibaraki Prefecture, the "Keyaki no Mori Festival (2026 Forest Environmental Education Event)" is an event under the giant zelkova tree that has watched over Daigo Town for nearly 500 years, offering opportunities to learn about the importance of forests and forestry while deepening community interaction. In Program 1, numerous booths will be set up to experience the gifts of the forest, including workshops using thinned wood, Molkky games, and sales of giant stag beetles. Food trucks will also arrive, allowing visitors to experience the charm of the forest in a lively atmosphere. In Program 2, the movie "A Minecraft Movie," based on the globally popular game Minecraft, can be viewed outdoors. Aiming to pass on Daigo Town's rich nature to future generations, this event provides a valuable opportunity for families to learn about forest environments while having fun. In case of rain, it will be held on a reduced scale in the gymnasium, but may be canceled in the event of severe weather.
