About this event

"Mai Ami Matsuri," which has become well established as Ami Town's premier summer event, will be held at a different time this year in consideration of recent extreme summer heat. While traditionally held on the first Saturday and Sunday of August, in 2026 it will take place on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11. The venue is a special event site adjacent to the Ami Town General Health and Welfare Center (Sawayaka Center). The event features a gourmet food festival and the Mai Ami Exhibition, with various stage performances showcased as the "Miami Fes." In addition, "AMI MATSURI DANCE (Bon Odori)" is planned on the street, where the Shin Ami Ondo and Matsuken Samba II will be danced. Applications for performers are also being accepted, open to groups with classrooms, studios, or offices in town, as well as town residents. The reception desk for the Gourmet Festival and Mai Ami Exhibition has changed to the "Ami Tourism Association" starting this fiscal year. Event dates for subsequent years will be reviewed and reconsidered based on the results of this year's event. The executive committee is moving forward with preparations to ensure a festival that visitors, participants, and operating staff can enjoy with peace of mind.
