The 15th Motegi Satoyama Walk Event

The "15th Motegi Satoyama Walk Event" held in Motegi Town, Tochigi Prefecture, marks its 15th edition this year as a walking event where participants can fully enjoy the rich nature of Motegi. While walking along the course in the Nakagawa district, participants can savor Motegi's beautiful satoyama scenery, autumn delicacies, and hospitality from local community centers. Three courses of 20 km, 13 km, and 6 km are available, with the 6 km course offering a Nordic walking experience. Anyone in good health can participate, though elementary school children and younger must be accompanied by a guardian. A lottery drawing will also be held for participants to win local specialty goods from Motegi. Aimed at promoting the region's appeal and furthering regional revitalization, the event also features distributions of pickles and tonjiru (pork miso soup) made with locally grown vegetables, gift presentations of local specialty items, and distributions of walking maps highlighting tourist attractions. Through this event, it contributes to promoting year-round tourism and invigorating the local community.
