Mibu-style Fukube Halloween Night

Held in Mibu Town, Tochigi Prefecture, as autumn arrives, "Mibu-style Fukube Halloween Night" is a unique local Halloween event. The biggest feature of this event is making and displaying Jack-o'-lanterns made not from pumpkins, but from "fukube" (bottle gourd fruit), which has long been actively produced locally. Made from these "fukube"—which become kanpyo (dried gourd strips) when shaved and dried—heartwarming Jack-o'-lanterns unique to Mibu Town decorate the venue. On the day, a wide variety of activities that the whole family can enjoy are planned, including a costume contest, a stamp rally, kitchen truck food stalls, stage events, a treasure hunt, and workshops. Furthermore, handmade haunted houses and photo spots will be set up, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the Halloween atmosphere in their own way. Please enjoy a special Halloween experience in a magical space illuminated by fukube Jack-o'-lanterns during the long autumn night.
