About this event
A solemn "Night Festival" is held on an autumn evening at Torinoko Sanjo Shrine in Nakagawa Town, Tochigi Prefecture. This festival offers an opportunity to experience the devout spirit of prayer with which ancient people revered divine power. A ritual of sharing food with the deities (shinjin kyoshoku) is performed, allowing many attendees to receive divine blessings and spiritual power. Anyone is free to participate in the festival and receive dango dumplings and beans. It is also the peak season for autumn foliage, allowing visitors to enjoy the festive atmosphere alongside the beautiful scenery.
