Takasaki Marching Festival

The Takasaki Marching Festival is a large-scale music event held every autumn in the City of Music, Takasaki. More than 5,000 performers, including elementary and junior high school students, gather to deliver powerful musical performances and routines. On Saturday, October 17, kindergarten and nursery school children will present "Kids Drill" at Takasaki Arena, where charming budding musicians give their all on stage; viewing on this day is restricted to persons affiliated with participating teams. The following day, Sunday, October 18, a "Parade" featuring local school bands and top-tier bands from across the country will take over Symphony Road—the main street of Takasaki—filling the city with music. The parade is free to watch. On the same day, Takasaki Arena will host "Free Performances" showcasing floor drills renowned for their precision formations and dynamic performances, as well as seated band concerts for immersive listening. Tickets are required to view the Free Performances. Ticket information for the event was released on August 18, 2026.
