2026 Ota Sports and Recreation Festival

Held at Ota City Athletic Park in Gunma Prefecture over two days on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026, is the '2026 Ota Sports and Recreation Festival.' Celebrating its 31st edition this year, this festival aims to promote exchange across generations and regions through sports, improve citizens' health, and revitalize the local community. Under the theme 'Watch, Eat, and Play,' the event is packed with activities that everyone from children to adults can enjoy. Featured events include the aerobic performance show 'GALA2026 Aerobics Lovers,' esports (drone/hands-on corner), and lifelong sports experience corners such as boccia and molkky. Additionally, the Ota City Multicultural Exchange Soccer Festival, intra-city high school baseball exchange games, Panasonic District Tug-of-War Tournament, Aeon Mall Ota Kids Sports Festival, and Hino Red Dolphins Rugby Experience Corner will be held. At the venue, visitors can also enjoy National Sports Games & Para Sports PR booths, Challenge the Sports, parent-child interaction corners, and a mini fire engine corner. Furthermore, an exchange specialties market area selling local specialty products from welfare organizations and partner cities, as well as a nostalgic festival fair area, will be set up with over 100 stalls planned. On the event days, the Ota City Athletic Park parking lot cannot be used, so please use public transportation or temporary parking lots and take advantage of the free shuttle buses. Please also be mindful of traffic restrictions on Sunday, October 25 due to the 'Joshu Ota Subaru Marathon.'
