About this event

This is a traditional Japanese performing arts appreciation event held at Makanai Dokoro Hasshutei inside Koedo Kurari (Kawagoe City Industrial and Tourism Information Center). In the historic town of Kawagoe, filled with Edo atmosphere, visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese performing arts—such as folk songs (minyo), shakuhachi flute, shamisen, taiko drumming, and classical dance—on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. The event schedule features reception starting at 3:45 PM and the performance starting at 4:20 PM. The venue is Koedo Kurari Hasshutei, conveniently accessible with a 15-minute walk from Kawagoe Station or a 3-minute walk from Hon-Kawagoe Station. Same-day admission is 1,000 yen, and advance multi-event tickets are also available for 900 yen each. Performers include Ayame Misato and Sakiko Fujima (folk songs), Soji Furusho (shakuhachi), Atsukiko Koyama and Atsuhiro Koyama (shamisen), Sakiko Fujima (taiko), and Sakiko Fujima (dance). Organized by the Koedo Kawagoe Association for Preserving and Nurturing Chic Traditional Japanese Arts (Ikina Wa-gei / Ikiwa-kai), and co-organized by Ikikawa Juku and Machizukuri Kawagoe Co., Ltd.
