About this event
The "Imakane Hachimangu Annual Grand Festival," held in Imakane Town, Hokkaido, is the town's largest event, featuring two floats—Hoosan and Kinryuzan—parading through the town. On the 20th, the mikoshi carrying association "Imakane Mutsumi," formed last year, will make an appearance carrying the portable shrine, accompanied by dynamic drum battles. Over 30 stalls will line De Molen Square, where a special local specialties sale will also take place in collaboration with Rausu Town. Additionally, a Kariba Taiko drum performance is scheduled on the De Molen Square stage from 20:00 on the 20th. Gorgeously decorated floats and the mikoshi parade through town accompanied by the melodies of flutes and taiko drums, with excitement reaching its peak during the "Kenka Taiko Battle" (fighting taiko battle) held during the main festival on Sunday, the 20th.
