About this event
Held to commemorate the registration of Watarase Retarding Basin as a Ramsar Convention wetland, the "Watarase Retarding Basin Festival in KAZO" marks its 14th edition this year. At the venue, various activities can be enjoyed, such as hot-air balloon tethered rides, vehicle displays, canoe and yacht experiences, environmental learning presentations, and natural disaster experience vehicles. In particular, at the cycling event "Cycle Around Watarase Retarding Basin 2026," welcoming guest Yoko Oya, participants can experience an approximately 26 km cycling tour exploring the three-prefecture border and the history of former Yanaka Village. At a leisurely pace that even beginners can join with peace of mind, it will be a day to fully appreciate the nature and history of Watarase Retarding Basin. Temporary parking will also be available on the day, offering convenient access.
