About this event

The Shimamaki Village Cultural Festival is an exhibition of cultural works held over two days on the last Saturday and Sunday of October every year at the Shimamaki Village Living Improvement Center. A wide variety of works contributed by individuals and groups from within and outside the village—such as flowers, calligraphy, fine art, photography, and decorative stones—are exhibited, delighting visitors' eyes. In addition, during the cultural festival period, hands-on events such as tea ceremony gatherings and cooking classes are held, allowing participants to experience the culture of Shimamaki Village. In the past, elementary and junior high school art exhibitions, nursery school artwork displays, light truck markets (kei-tora market), artwork sales corners, and paper craft workshops have been held, making it an event that a wide range of generations from local residents to children and adults can enjoy. Visitors can experience works reflecting the rich nature and regional character of Shimamaki Village and deepen cultural exchange.
