On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the "Shiraoka Festival" will be held at Shiraoka City General Athletic Park. Starting at 12:00 PM on the day, food stalls by the Chamber of Commerce, ceremonies, and fun lottery drawings are scheduled. The venue is the Shiraoka City General Athletic Park, beloved as a relaxation spot for Shiraoka citizens. This year features many highlights, including a trampoline experience, the "Shiraoka Odori" dance that caps off the festival finale, and sky lanterns coloring the night sky. While applications for team participation in "Shiraoka Odori" are closed, same-day open participation as a "Tobiri-ren" (walk-in team) is possible even in small groups. Additionally, there is an intriguing announcement stating "Celebrities might come!?", raising anticipation for what kind of guests will appear. Plush keychains of Shiraoka City's mascot character "Shirao Kamen" are also scheduled to be sold, with details to be announced as soon as they are finalized. Last year, following a fire at the city hall, the event was held in a special format as the "33rd Shiraoka Festival: Hearts as One - Shiraoka Reconstruction Support Festa ~ Fly Hope with Charity ~", featuring unexpected plans one after another such as Ban Nakamura appearing as a hunter, free shoot experiences by AZ SAITAMA, a live performance by KIMIKA, and "Night Bubbles" where fantastical soap bubbles filled the night sky.
