Kawashima Fourth Neighborhood Association Summer Festival

The 'Fourth Summer Festival', a major event of the Kawashima Fourth Neighborhood Association, will be held over two days on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13. The venue is Kawashimacho Suidomichi Park, and the TEPCO storage area is available for parking. On the first day, Saturday the 12th, as the Yoimiya (eve festival), visitors can enjoy food stalls and an entertainment stage. On the entertainment stage where local residents take the lead, singing, dancing, and band performances will be presented. In addition, the Bon Odori dance, a summer staple where everyone forms a circle to enjoy dancing, will also be held, and participation by circles and volunteer groups is welcome. The food stalls and community exchange booths aim to create a lively space where everyone from children to adults can easily drop by. On the second day, Sunday the 13th, as the Honmiya (main festival), a mikoshi (portable shrine) and dashi (float) parade will take place in the morning. Both adults and children can join in carrying the mikoshi to enliven the neighborhood, and mikoshi carriers are also being recruited. A Soran Bushi dance will also be performed, energizing the venue with energetic dancing by children. Under the theme of a community-created summer festival, the event is built together by everyone in the neighborhood, from performing and dancing to preparation, cleanup, and booth management. Participation is open in various forms, including stage performers, Bon Odori dancers, mikoshi carriers, children dancing Soran Bushi, preparation and cleanup support, and beverage booth helpers, with expectations to serve as a place to deepen exchanges among local residents. Based on last year's program, another lively two days are planned for this year.
