About this event
The "2026 Hometown History Lecture" will be held focusing on the theme of haniwa (terracotta clay figures) around Kamikawa Town and Kamisato Town. On Saturday, November 14, Mr. Akio Kaneko from the Kamikawa Town Board of Education will serve as the lecturer for the session titled "Haniwa of Kamikawa Town: The Haniwa Erected by Villagers." Subsequently, on Saturday, November 28, Mr. Michiyoshi Hayashi from the Kamisato Town Local History Museum will give a lecture titled "Tumuli and People of Kamisato Town." Both lectures will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in Lecture Room A on the 2nd floor of the Kamikawa Town Central Community Center. Participation is free, but each session has a capacity of approximately 30 people. Why not take this valuable opportunity to engage with local history and culture and learn deeply about the world of haniwa left behind by ancient people?
