Making Friends with Autumn Insects (Grasshoppers)

Organized by the Chiba Prefectural Nature Observation Leaders Association, the 'Making Friends with Autumn Insects (Grasshoppers)' observation session is an event where you can learn about the ecology of insects, starting with grasshoppers that become active with the arrival of autumn. In a nature-rich environment, participants will explore the world of insects deeply alongside specialized instructors. In the observation session, instructors will provide easy-to-understand explanations for both children and adults about the body structure and ecology of grasshoppers, as well as how they live in the autumn satoyama (woodland near populated areas). It will be an ideal opportunity to view nature from the perspective of insects and appreciate the charm of small living creatures that are often overlooked. It offers an educational and fun experience that allows participants to rediscover the mysteries of life and the importance of the natural environment through contact with nature.
