Held as an autumn tradition in Moto-Yawata, Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, the "23rd Kaiyuten in Yawata 2026" marks its 23rd year with 2 days of engaging with art and culture. The theme is "Rediscovery! The Town of Yawata." At Zen-Nikkei Hall, an exciting music festival by talented performers will be held. In addition, at Yawata Art Museum (Zen-Nikkei Hall 2F), exhibitions of local art pieces and workshops can be enjoyed. Furthermore, the Saizeriya No. 1 Education Memorial Hall, which is usually closed to the public, will be specially opened, hosting an exhibition of works by photographer Shun Shirai. The collaboration between the historic space and photography is a must-see. The event is free for anyone to attend, and no reservation is required. It will be an opportunity to discover new charms of Yawata by engaging with art, music, and history while strolling around town. Stamp rallies and guided tours will also be conducted, allowing visitors to deepen their interaction with the local area.
