About this event
This is the annual grand festival of Awa Shrine, renowned as the Ichinomiya of Awa Province. Including neighboring districts, a total of 6 portable shrines (mikoshi) and 2 floats come out. The gathering of portable shrines and floats from each district at Awa Shrine is a special event held once every 3 years. The previous occurrence was in 2015, and the next will be in 2027. Through community-rooted traditions and the vibrant procession of portable shrines and floats, this festival provides an opportunity to experience ancient faith and local culture.
