About this event

The "Narita Traditional Performing Arts Festival," where carefully selected traditional performing arts from all over Japan gather in one place, comes to Narita again this year. Richly distinctive festivals from various regions will brighten the area around Naritasan Omotesando, including Tokushima's Awa Odori, Kochi's Yosakoi Festival, Iwate's Morioka Sansa Odori, Akita's Kanto Festival, Kumamoto's Yamaga Toro Odori, and Shimane Prefecture's Iwami Kagura. This year, an educational dance troupe from Taoyuan City, Taiwan will also perform, showcasing an internationally diverse stage. In addition, traditional performing arts associated with the city, such as the "Narita Gion Festival" with a history of over 300 years and "Narita no Odori Hanami" handed down since the Genroku era, will be performed, allowing visitors to appreciate the charm of local arts. On Saturday, September 26, a traditional performing arts parade by the performing groups and an impactful night stage that shines brightly against the night sky will also be held. With the pulling and display of floats and food stalls, tourism PR corners, and more, it is an event that can be enjoyed all day. Please do not miss this opportunity to view valuable traditional performing arts in one place in Narita that would otherwise require traveling to those regions to see.
