About this event
The "Jumble Canoe Championship 2026" will be held at Lake Inba (Kashima River, opposite Marche Kashima) in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. Under the slogan "Everyone is welcome, whether you have a disability or not, and first-timers too," this universal sports event allows anyone—regardless of disabilities, generation, or experience level—to share experiences on the same field and celebrate each other's challenges. Returning for its second edition following 2025, it aims to communicate the spirit of mutual support within the local community from Lake Inba. Canoeing is one of the few universal sports that people can enjoy together on the same boat and at the same eye level beyond visible differences like wheelchairs or walking sticks, holding great significance as a place where people can naturally cooperate across differences in circumstances and backgrounds. On the day of the competition, a Universal Division (100m), SUP Division, Kayak Division, and Group Division (Rafting Boat) will be held. In addition, two globally active para-athletes will participate as guests, fostering inclusive interactions with participants through demonstrations at the pre-day practice session, a kids' exchange event, and competing as pairs in the universal race on the event day. Inside the venue, a special booth by the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) will also be set up to promote clean para-sports.
