About this event

"Muroran Culture Night 2026" is a community exchange event modeled after an event originating in Denmark, Northern Europe. Local public facilities, private companies, civic groups, and others open their facilities at night for one night only, allowing visitors to tour backstage areas not normally seen and experience local industry, culture, and history through hands-on programs. Under the theme of "A nighttime social studies field trip for both adults and children," various programs are held throughout Muroran City. For example, the Old Muroran Station Building will extend its normal closing hours to open, and the Muroran Minpo Minna no Aquarium (Muroran City Aquarium) will hold a nighttime aquarium where visitors can see illumination decorations and the nocturnal behavior of fish. Among the amusement rides, only the Ferris wheel will operate. Some programs require advance reservations, and some may change on the day due to weather or circumstances, so please check with each facility or program for details.
