The 9th Kimitsu Local Sake Festival

Japanese name:第9回きみつの地酒まつり

📅 Fri, Oct 9, 2026

📍 Kimitsu, Chiba

About this event

Kimitsu City has the largest number of sake breweries among the municipalities in the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo and 7 prefectures) and is a region where sake brewing is flourishing. Making use of this characteristic, the city enacted the 'Ordinance to Promote Toasts with Kimitsu Local Sake' to encourage toasting with local sake. For this 9th edition, in addition to the 'Kazusa Hachikura' consisting of 6 breweries in the city and 2 breweries in Futtsu City, 'Hachimitsu Kobo' will also open a stall. Following last year, the venue will be the Kimitsu City Health and Welfare Center Fureai-kan, utilizing the outdoor plaza as well. Please enjoy toasting with Kimitsu local sake under the clear autumn sky. Tasting and sales of local sake, sales of snacks, and food trucks are scheduled to appear. An original ochoko sake cup (for tasting) will be provided as an attendee gift. The capacity is 450 people (400 in case of rain), and the event is open to individuals aged 20 and older. The event will proceed in rain, but will be postponed to Thursday, October 15 in the event of severe weather.
