Komaba Todaimae Shopping Street Summer Cooling Festival

The 'Summer Cooling Festival', a summer tradition held in the Komaba Todaimae Shopping Street, is a main event that gathers people of all ages. At the venue, attendees can form circles and enjoy Bon Odori dancing to the beat of taiko drums. Participating in yukata is also welcome. Many food stalls offering ice-cold beer, soft drinks, yakitori, and yakisoba will be set up, along with game booths such as yoyo fishing and goldfish scooping. For children, the traditional gift of ice cream (first 300 arrivals) will be provided at the end of the Bon Odori dance. On the day, members of the University of Tokyo Komaba Festival Committee will participate to help alongside 'Komakkero', the official character of the UTokyo Komaba Festival. In conjunction with the event, vehicle traffic restrictions will be implemented in certain sections.
