Setagaya Hachimangu Autumn Grand Festival

This is the Autumn Grand Festival held at Setagaya Hachimangu Shrine. As a famous specialty of this festival, dedicated student sumo wrestling by the Tokyo University of Agriculture Sumo Club will take place. In 2026, the dedicated student sumo will be held on Saturday, September 19, starting at 14:00, followed by the enshrined mikoshi entry (Miyairi) on Sunday, September 20. During the festival period, food stalls will also line the shrine grounds, creating a lively scene. You can enjoy local autumn seasonal traditions such as the traditional shrine entry of mikoshi portable shrines and powerful sumo bouts dedicated by students.
