About this event
The 4th Kyodo-no-Mori Red Spider Lily Festival will be held at the Fuchu Kyodo-no-Mori Museum in Fuchu City, Tokyo. Around the autumn equinox period (Higan), approximately 400,000 red spider lilies (manjushage) reach their peak bloom, creating a beautiful autumn landscape that dyes the grounds in deep crimson. Staff members have been planting these flowers for over 10 years to recreate the scenery of red spider lilies that once lined the rice paddies, riverbanks, and irrigation canals along the Tama River in Fuchu. Within the spacious grounds preserved with historic buildings and nature, visitors can fully appreciate the seasonal flowers along with scenery reminiscent of traditional satoyama rural landscapes. During the event period, a variety of activities for children and adults are scheduled, including taiko drum performances, monkey performances (sarumawashi), and hands-on workshops, making it ideal for an autumn holiday outing.
