About this event
In Chofu, the "City Where Mizuki Manga Was Born," events visiting spots associated with Shigeru Mizuki are held annually to honor the achievements of Chofu City Honorary Citizen Shigeru Mizuki, designating November 30, the anniversary of his passing, as "GeGeGe-ki" (GeGeGe Memorial). In November 2026, "GeGeGe-ki 2026" will be held once again. As for event content, "GeGeGe Yokocho / GeGeGe Forest" featuring character greetings, character stage shows, a market (marche), sales of Sakaiminato City "Crab Soup" (kani-jiru), and the cosplay event "Chofu City Brigadoon Project" is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29 at Chofu Station Square and other venues. In addition, the "GeGeGe Stamp Rally" visiting spots associated with Shigeru Mizuki and a digital stamp rally visiting cooperating stores will be conducted. Furthermore, special anime screenings featuring screenings of anime based on Shigeru Mizuki's works with talk shows by voice actors and production staff, as well as the setup of flower offering stands in memory of Shigeru Mizuki, are planned. Various initiatives remembering Shigeru Mizuki will also take place at cooperating shops throughout the city.
